Our New York Journey...

Welcome to Mocha Swirl, a combined blogging effort by Dahlia Rose and Tressie Lockwood!

As authors, sitting in front of the computer everyday can become a bit monotonous. Our muses cry out to be free and to have a chance to play. They tend to go on strike, revolt, riot, and then not speak, which leads to the dreaded… writer’s block. Gasp! Dun dun dun!! What do we do? Well the fabulous Tressie and I go on journeys to relieve our stress, give the muses creative fuel, and hell, just to have fun. New York was just that for, to release the tension, shop, and see the wonderment of the big city lights. I’ve lived in New York, but I still never ceased to be amazed at the lights, the people, and the controlled chaos that makes it all worthwhile!

Going across the bridge into Manhattan leaves you breathless. The brightly lit buildings over the river beckon you to see it all, explore every street and stall outside. The smells of exotic food and the bustle of people even after one in the morning never cease to amaze. You may be wondering why we were in Manhattan until after one in the morning. One hyphenated word springs to mind HUNK-O-MANIA!! Oh the debaucheries to be had in a place with a name like that. Abs as far as the eyes can see, men who have sexuality exuding from ever pore of their hard rippling bodies. We had no words—well, we had words, and most of them were naughty. LOL. If you saw men who looked like they were sculpted like the statue of David, what would you do? Manliness thy name is firefighter, school teacher, and we can’t forget Marco with the tattoos or Mike with the Bowtie!! *Fans Self* They had a wonderful smell when they moved to our every whim. Let’s just say the muses were very happy with the visionary and sensory buffet we gave them.

Tressie here. Yes! I agree with Dahlia. New York is amazing. I shopped until my feet felt like they would fall off. Loved every minute of it. I’ve never seen so many people in one place, so many lights. The colors were brilliant. The life and activity. That place is so very different from Charlotte in that the people are moving constantly, talking, rushing about. Energy vibrates from the city.

And Hunk-O-Mania. Oh, I feel like I want to bite my finger and moan every time I think of the men there. At random times after the show, a sexy man would pop into my head, and I’d just moan again. Yes, that’s how hot they were! And the things they did to the women who went up on stage… Is it getting hot in here? If you’ve never gone to see sexy men gyrate for you. Go!!! Immediately. Drop what you’re doing and get some yummy man to do your bidding. You won’t regret it.

Dinner, Times Square, shopping, and so much more sent us home with revitalized imaginations ready to create magic on the pages. Now it’s time to give you a treat! Where is Tressie and Dahlia Contest! In the multitude of images, there are pictures of us holding our newest print books, Army Beast and Unsuited. Figure out where we are, and be the first to comment with all the answers, and you’ll be the winner of a copy of each of those books.

Mocha Swirl will not just be about the written word. We’ll have video blogging as well from different places where our travels take us! So follow us on our journeys to make sure our muses are sated. Let’s see what adventures we can find together!
